METAL, a combination art gallery-metalworking shop, recently marked its one year anniversary in Ann Arbor. The unique business was featured Wednesday in a WJBK report.
METAL is a design and fabrication studio and gallery located at 220 Felch St. It features eclectic art pieces, furniture, sculptures, inventions and salvage work.
It features 4,000-square-feet of workshop space equipped for state-of-the-art metal cutting, vintage car work — even blacksmithing. Owners Claudette Jocelyn Stern and John Daniel Walters opened the shop in April 2011.
In the WJBK report, the owners emphasize repurposing items they find for further use, including lights from the old Ann Arbor Ice Cube and turning the former gallery ceiling into walls.
