JAC Products in Saline sold to Chicago private equity firm

By Paula Gardner

JAC Products Inc. - an auto supplier with a growing facility in Saline - was sold to a Chicago-based private equity firm in late 2010.

New owner of the Pontiac-based JAC Products is Wynnchurch Capital Ltd., according to a report in Crain's Detroit Business.

JAC Products has about $220 million in annual revenue and about 1,000 employees, according to the report.

The company's 180,000-square-foot Saline facility planned a $6.7M expansion last fall, when it also announced plans to hire 87 employees. The Saline facility had 412 employees at the time, down from 475 in January 2010.

The company also has hired John Falcon as president and CEO, replacing Stephen Morrey.

I hope this change in corporate ownership doesn't have a negative impact on the JAC facility in Saline. They have been a consistent supporter of the Saline Community and we had expected them to continue to grow and hire more employees. I wish all the best for the Saline location and it's employees.
