Cascades Fine Papers uses recycled fiber in the manufacturing of its papers and powers its Rolland mill, located in Québec, with bio-friendly fuel.
For the initial round of awards, Cascades chose to recognize those companies that are making an extraordinary environmental impact in their daily operations. Through McNaughton & Gunn’s 2010 usage of Enviro 100, Cascades 100 percent recycled sheet, the company saved the following: 13,592 trees 15,886,931 gallons of water 5,282,279 pounds of CO2 emissions and 2,032,846 pounds of waste.
The savings is roughly equivalent to nearly 400 football fields full of trees; a shower that lasts 7.6 years; and taking 400 cars off the road everyday for one year.
The award was presented to Julie McFarland, CEO of McNaughton & Gunn by David Beebe, Midwest Territory Manager for Cascades Fine Papers at the Ada headquarters of Cascades distributor, Central Michigan Paper.
