Downtown Manchester's Black Sheep Tavern closes its doors for good

The Black Sheep Tavern, 115 E. Main St., closed Saturday after three years of business in downtown Manchester, according to The Manchester Enterprise.
Kellie Englund told The Manchester Enterprise that the tavern wasn’t getting enough business to stay open.
Coffee Mill Cafe, which is run out of the same building and owned by the same owner, will continue to operate.
The cafe will maintain its usual hours, seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will continue to serve liquor because the alcohol permit was for the whole building, not just the tavern, The Manchester Enterprise said.

The Manchester Enterprise says the current version of The Black Sheep Tavern has only been in business for three years.

That helps clear up the sign saying, "Since 1873"; the original version of The Black Sheep Tavern started in 1873.

I thought it was there longer then 3 years. We stop in every once in a while when driving through. What a shame. We were so happy when we found a nice place with good food and prices local.

I remember The Blacksheep as a thriving business back in the 60's. I even saw Grizzly Adams there! LOL. Sorry to see the name die, but I guess I was on of the ones that didn't support it either.
