Karen Richard, owner of the restaurant under construction on Jackson Road in Scio Township, said she’s aiming for a soft opening on June 4, with a grand opening celebration planned for June 12 with company CEO Craig Culver.
Construction moved quickly at the Culver's site thanks to favorable weather.

She had been looking to open a location near Ann Arbor for years, and had looked at sites in Pittsfield Township and Saline before purchasing the Scio Township property. She opened her Jackson store in 2006.
“Ann Arbor would have probably been my first choice for a restaurant; however, there wasn’t any property available when I began to look,” she said.
After beginning construction on the new location in February, Richard said things are now three weeks ahead of schedule thanks in part to favorable weather. The parking lot has been paved and the building has been constructed.
She plans to hire roughly 65 part-time employees to work at the store and has already hired managers. She said applicants can apply online and can submit walk-in applications to the restaurant the week of May 14.
“I want to have everybody hired and ready to do their paperwork by the close of business on May 22,” Richard said. “We have a lot of applications, but we can always use more because we’re looking for very happy, outgoing people.”
The first Culver’s restaurant opened in Wisconsin in 1984, and there are now over 425 locations nationwide. There are 34 locations in Michigan.
