In just more than 2 weeks, Washtenaw County's business leaders will gather to honor 9 local companies for their significant accomplishments over the past year.

The event is Business Review's 6th annual Deals of the Year event, held at 6 p.m. Nov. 5 at Eastern Michigan University's Student Center.

The winners are kept secret until they're unveiled at the event. However, three nominees have been announced in each of 7 sector categories.

The black-tie gala is the county's largest business awards event. Past winners include Rick Snyder, Roger Newton, David Canter, Albert Berriz and The University of Michigan Health System.

In 2009, speakers emphasized how Ann Arbor can lead Michigan out of the recession.

Ticket sales for the event will close on Friday, Oct. 29. Individual tickets are $95, while a table of 10 is $850.
