The company cited the changing healthcare industry and the “complexities of managing a prescription-pharmacy business” as reasons for the decision, the news website reported.

The Ann Arbor-based company has 15 stores, but not all of them have pharmacies. In July, the company announced plans to open a 16th store in a building that formerly housed a Farmer Jack store in Canton.

In Ann Arbor, Bush’s store on Green Road has a pharmacy, but the one on South Main Street does not. Stores in Dexter and Saline have pharmacies.

The company said CVS and Rite-Aid pharmacies would handle customers’ prescriptions after Oct. 21, Patch reported.
