Black Friday accident: Icy roads slow traffic near Ann Arbor shopping epicenter
An accident involving at least three vehicles is slowing traffic on the bridge over I-94 on Ann Arbor-Saline Road, a main passageway to Ann Arbor's Black Friday action.
Icy roads, caused by a light dusting of snow overnight, apparently led to the accident, which left several vehicles parked in the middle of the north-bound side of Ann Arbor-Saline Road. Major injuries appeared unlikely, but broken glass was splattered on the roadway and police were yet to arrive at 7:05 a.m.
Ann Arbor-Saline Road is a main thoroughfare for Black Friday shoppers. Drivers use the road to travel to and from Kohl's, Target, Best Buy, Meijer, Pet Smart, Borders and Briarwood Mall, among other shopping destinations.
