Ann Arbor's Domino's Pizza shows 4Q earnings growth on record U.S. sales
Domino's Pizza continued to grow earnings in the 4th quarter, reporting a 2.3 percent increase even as rising cheese prices pressure the stock and the Ann Arbor Township-based company.
The increases come from record-setting U.S. sales and increased international sales, according to a report from Medill Reports in Chicago.Domino's Pizza posted year-long sales increases after it introduced a new pizza recipe in late 2009, overhauling its core product.
Quarterly same store U.S. sales rose 6.3 percent, while they grew 9 percent in international locations.
For the full year, same-store sales increased 9.9 percent.
A report in Business Week on the company's 4th quarter earnings quotes CEO Patrick Doyle as saying, "we're a new Domino's."
The company operates 454 restaurants in the U.S., and supports 8,897 franchises worldwide, according to Nation's Restaurant News.
It's latest product news involves an introduction of chicken menu items, including boneless strips and wings.
