This course is really tight. The developer did a nice job squeezing a house into every square inch of every fairway. I'm scared to bust out the driver on several holes on that course.

Yeah, and who would by the houses on the right side of the fairway on number 1 down by the green. Do those people even play golf?

The pro shop and grille staff is always so friendly and accommodating. I even went to a wedding last weekend at Stonebridge and loved the food. Would highly recommend golfing, practicing or eating at Stonebridge!

Any idea why Rustic Glen was not on the list? Its a great value, nice greens and a friendly atmosphere.

Having played most every course in the county, I can pretty much say that Stonebridge or Eagle Crest are the two top tracks.

Having played every course in the county, including several that no longer exist, I have to disagree. Both Stonebridge and Eagle Crest are fine courses but neither stands out compared to any number of other layouts in the county.

I've played this course a a few times. It is a great course with friendly people running it. It is kept up like a country club but it feels as welcoming as a family owned business. I recommend it to players of all levels. I played in a couple outings there too, so the food is very good too.

Can any of the Best Of be really taken seriously, are they just a way for annarbor.com to generate ad revenues. how many people voted if the top 3 only received 260 votes in total? My son's high school polls has better participation than that.

How is a 'public golf course' defined? Stonebridge is not owned by a public entity so I'm a little confused. Pretty low numbers so I can see how a club could boost the numbers with a little pushing (and 'incentives' for players to vote...).

"Public" means open to the public, as opposed to "municipal" courses, which are publicly owned. And Stonebridge is not a "club" in the way you're thinking.
