What’s the best place for u-pick fruit in Washtenaw County? The voters in AnnArbor.com’s BestOf contest say it’s Makielski’s Berry Farm, which won with 34 votes, leading Wasem Fruit Farm, which took second place with 31 votes.

Best place for u-pick fruit voting began last Sunday and ended at 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

Within the first couple of days, the lead contender rose to the top. Makielski’s held the No. 1 position and remained there all week. Wasem Fruit Farm remained in a solid 2nd place ending the contest with only 3 votes separating the two. As voting closed, Makielski’s Berry Farm won the BestOf title, Wasem Fruit Farm finished in the second spot, and Dexter Blueberry Farm took third.

This week’s contest is for best art gallery.

I bet your mom always told you that you were a great artist. She especially loved your stick figure family portraits and that ashtray you made out of clay in second grade, right?
